Malayali Media

Content Policy

Last updated: January 2026

Malayali Media ("we," "us," "our," "the Site") is a Malayalam-language news and entrepreneurial branding platform based in Angamaly, Kerala, India. This Content Policy explains the editorial standards, sourcing practices, and content restrictions that govern everything we publish, including articles, Web Stories, images, video, sponsored features, and user comments.

1. Editorial Standards

  • We aim to publish accurate, fact-checked, and clearly sourced news and feature content covering Kerala, India, and global developments relevant to the Malayali community.
  • Where facts are disputed or unconfirmed, content is labelled "developing," "unconfirmed," or "opinion" as appropriate.
  • Bylines are provided for original reporting. Content compiled from wire services or third-party sources is credited to the source.

2. Corrections

Post-publication errors are handled under our separate Correction Policy, which sets out how we label, fix, and disclose corrections and retractions.

3. Sponsored Content and Advertising Disclosure

  • Paid, sponsored, or branded content — including entrepreneur features, brand award coverage, or promotional partnerships — is clearly labelled "Sponsored," "Advertisement," or "In Partnership With" before publication.
  • Sponsored content is kept visually and editorially distinct from independent news reporting, consistent with Google's Publisher Content Policies on clearly distinguishing paid placements.
  • We do not accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage disguised as independent journalism.

4. AI-Assisted Content

Where AI tools assist with drafting, translation, summarisation, or research, final content is human-reviewed before publication. We do not publish fully automated, unreviewed AI-generated news content at scale, consistent with Google's guidance on helpful, people-first content.

5. Prohibited Content

We do not publish or knowingly host content that:

  • Is unlawful under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021
  • Promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, community, gender, or ethnicity
  • Is sexually explicit, obscene, or exploitative of minors
  • Defames any individual or entity without factual basis
  • Infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
  • Promotes self-harm, dangerous products, or illegal goods and services
  • Constitutes misinformation about elections or public health emergencies, or content affecting a Sensitive Event as defined under Google's AdSense Sensitive Events policy, without appropriate context or sourcing

This list mirrors, and is intended to remain compatible with, Google's Publisher Content Policies and AdSense Program Policies, since the Site serves Google ads.

6. User Comments and Submissions

  • Comments must be respectful, on-topic, and free of hate speech, harassment, spam, or unlawful content.
  • We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove any comment or user submission without prior notice.
  • Repeated policy violations may result in a user being blocked from commenting.
  • Objectionable comments can be reported via the Contact page and are reviewed under our Grievance Redressal process described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property and Republishing

All original content is © Malayali Media Online. Third parties may share excerpts with clear attribution and a link back to the original article; full republishing requires prior written permission. If you believe content on this Site infringes your copyright, contact us with details of the material and your ownership claim, and we will investigate and act promptly, including removal where appropriate.

8. Sensitive Events and Breaking News

During major unforeseen events (natural disasters, public emergencies, active conflict, etc.), we exercise additional editorial caution, avoid speculative or unverified claims, and may temporarily adjust ad display around related coverage in line with Google's Sensitive Events policy.
